A family legacy built on time-honored recipes, natural wood smoke, and craftsmanship that has stood the test of time.

Our Story
The story of Worst Jerky in Texas beings long before the name on the package. Our roots trace back to 1943, when Devine Meat Company first opened its doors and became a cornerstone of the Devine, TX community. For generations, the market earned a reputation for quality craftsmanship and old-fashioned meat processing.
In 2012, Clayton Saunders purchased Devine Meat Company, bringing with him treasured family recipes and time-honored techniques that have been passed down for more than 150 years. Those recipes are still at the heart of everything we make today.
Unlike mass-produced snacks, our jerky and dried sausage are crafted the old-fashioned way -- using carefully cured meats, natural hardwood smoke, and plenty of time. We believe great flavor can't be rushed, and we continue to honor the traditions of Clayton's grandparents by making our products with the same patience and care they did generations ago.
At worst jerky in texas, the name may make you laugh --- but one bite will tell you a different story. we don't just make jerky. we carry on a texas tradition that's been over 150 years in the making.
